


To qualify as an Entrepreneur, the applicant must have the intention and ability to establish, purchase or make a substantial investment in a business venture in Canada that the person will manage on an active and ongoing basis. They will own and manage at least one third of the business, and contribute to the economy by maintaining employment opportunities in Canada for one or more Canadian citizens or permanent residents, other than the entrepreneur and his/her dependants. The Entrepreneur must also have business experience, either having managed a qualifying business or controlled a minimum percentage of its equity. Lastly, the immigrant must settle in a particular province and establish his business there during the first 2 years from landing. Each province imposes its own investment requirements and labour regulations.
